I understand that deciding on commissioning a painting is a big decision. I want the whole process to be as easy and enjoyable as possible. I want you to be part of the journey and decisions. I want you to look at the painting in years to come and not only remember the memories the painting brings you but also the good memories of a successful commission experience.

A brief overview of the commissioning journey

First, I would start with "You"
It would all start with a conversation. We would take the time to discuss your idea and why this painting is important to you. I try to get a background of the emotional connections, what it means to you, the history, the memories and make sure I can understand what the end goal needs to be.

Second, a bit more detail
We would then work together on the size you have in mind, is that the best size? What dimensions? What surface? I would determine the style you like of mine, what paintings you have seen that you really like and made you reach out to me.

Third, what to expect from my services
Obviously you want to know what you will get along the way. We will discuss kick off, progress updates, proofing, scheduled amends, framing… All the things to determine how the final piece will end up in your hands.

Finally, the boring bits like costs and contracts
We will discuss the cost and how it is broken down. I will also explain the specifics that are in the contract and how payments will be made etc. I am thorough with this so you are exactly informed before proceeding.
